Hello, my name is Anna Onuchina.

I have completed the Educational Support Diploma Program at Sheridan College. This portfolio showcases my academic studies, field placements, and professional experience in educational and community settings.

Throughout my studies and placements, I have developed knowledge and practical skills in supporting students with diverse learning, behavioural, communication, sensory, and emotional needs.

This portfolio highlights my growth as an Educational Support professional and demonstrates my commitment to inclusive education, student well-being, and lifelong learning.

My Professional Journey

1. Clinical Psychologist
Started my professional career after graduation, working in a mental health clinic. Conducted cognitive assessments, including memory, attention, and performance testing, and prepared reports for physicians.

2. Supporting People with Disabilities in Canada
After moving to Canada, worked with seniors with disabilities, developing a deeper understanding of individualized support, empathy, and person-centred care.

3. Native Language Instructor — OCSB
Began teaching children and continue to work as a Native Language Instructor with OCSB, creating structured, inclusive, and supportive learning environments.

4. Supporting Children with Special Needs
Developed experience supporting children with ASD, ADHD, learning disabilities, and other exceptionalities, adapting instruction to individual learning and behavioural needs.

5. Specialized Educational Strategies
Use ABA-based strategies, UDL, First–Then, positive reinforcement, visual supports, sensory strategies, task breakdown, transitions, self-regulation, and differentiated instruction.

6. Educational Support Professional
My previous experience in clinical psychology, disability support, and teaching has naturally led me toward working with children with special educational needs and building my career in educational support.
